Absolutely!  As Paul said in a previous post, creating a two-tier interface isn't technically challenging.  The difficulty is in specifying an entry level interface that  everyone agrees with.

Any user who doubts this should try publishing their suggestions for what should be left out of the simplified interface - and let's see how long it is before other users start disagreeing!
