Making an interface that is powerful yet simple is a challenge.  Ardour, IMHO, strikes a great compromise, given how powerful it truly is.

But a 'ARDOUR_CASUAL' or 'ARDOUR_PRO' variable, perhaps even set in the rc file, might be ok.  

Yeah, I had forgotten about how the SAE differences could be set at runtime....
