Thanks Carl.  I'm guessing that LD_LIBRARY_CONFIG is an environment variable?  If so, that seems to have been the problem because I didn't have any such variable defined.  Defining one and setting it to /usr/local/lib/ardour2 seems to have fixed the problem.

I wonder how it ever worked before???
