i ran ardour from svn everyday in my pro studio for many years. amazingly 
without ever having anything other than slowly improving 
stability/features//functionality. when there were problems, i got 'em 
fixed.but it was a risky business and i knew it.  i felt it was one way i could 
give back. you especially need people like me doing that; would i pay for the 
privilege? not very likely.
