it is a bug. its already fixed in svn, with an optional environment
variable for whatever few french & polish translation users that might
have sessions that suffer from this error. if
ARDOUR_RETAIN_PORT_NAME_SUFFIX_TRANSLATION is set, then ardour will
continue to use the old buggy behaviour.
