As Robin knows, I've successfully built and installed aics on 64 Studio 
3.0 beta (Ubuntu 8.04). The process was straightforward, though at least 
one component (libltcsmpte) is not in the Ubuntu repos. The program 
works as advertised, it's very cool to see a video track/timeline in 
Ardour 2.8. Promising stuff, but users should be aware that it is not 
yet a full-fledged editor. Still, it's exciting to think that Ardour 
eventually might be able to load and coordinate audio with MIDI and 
video tracks.
