Currently the track will be printed in 32bit and that can fill up space 
on the drive. Also you have to specifically record the sections you want 
to look at which takes time.

What I'm suggesting here is to automate this process with the goal to 
have very little footprint for both dev time and resources. Make it an 
option that some people can enable and hey presto there is a new feature 
for ardour that few other apps offer.

 From the discussion so far there are several methods that could be 
implemented to achieve the goal.

If a few developers spend time on it then everyone benefits in the long 
run.

However I'm not trying to steal time away from any other 
features/requests that are in process. I'm planning to spend time and 
money if necessary to do put it in place myself.
