Hmmm...I see. So, the safest solution seems to be a MultifaceII device, since I don't know how long my PCI equipped M/Board will last. 

Anyways...

The Fireface devices aren't supported under Linux, as I heard the
manufacturer will not release the technical specs. On the other hand,
the HDSP devices work great -- I can vouch for the Multiface II
devices, they work very well.
