Hi Dan,
I think Piotr is talking about text strings only. I don't think that
following this or that guideliness
for this matter will make ardour look out of place on some DEs, but make it
look cleaner and more
consistent in all of them.

I also agree with him about some menus look a bit bloated with the repeated
words. It gets even worse
when you translate the app to a more verbose language like spanish. I've
also noted other minor
inconsistences like dialog titles sometimes being uppercase and sometimes
not; not all menu options
capitalized; and some repeated menu options on different menus like the
meter options (In Preferences and
View if I remember well).
