But what about loading this session file would cause a disconnect from
JACK?  And is there a way to capture this error message in a logfile, 
assuming it would be helpful?

I'm not sure what I can do to salvage this session other than start a
new one with the takes that the band wants kept.  The plugins and automation
will have to be done from scratch.  Oh well, at least we've got the 
.wav files for that.
