Rev 1588 contains a substantial change to Ardour's architecture - there
is no separate thread for building peak files any more. I have tested
this myself on both normal and tape tracks, import&embedding etc. Things
seem good, although embedding a file will appear to hang for a while as
the peaks get built (still trying to think of the right fix for this). I
would appreciate it if a few people could bang on it and make sure they
don't see anything odd. Basically, nothing should have changed from a
user perspective except the eradication of several bugs related to peak
files that have developed in the last several months.
