as jesse has noted, the likelihood of any non-linux software (or even
linux software, for that matter) being able to handle RIFX (big-endian
RIFF format) BWF files is essentially zero.

i believe we are still waiting for confirmation that ardour on linux can
or cannot open the mac-originated session.
