Thanks for the reply. I'm a little confused about what you mean exactly. Could you give an example of what you mean? Your post got me to try running jack with the -P option to not use any capture ports and I think this fixed the x-run problem. Unfortunately my whole system keeps freezing and crashing now under fedora w/ planet CCRMA. I'm not sure whether it freezes up only when running apps through Jack or whether it's something to do with fedora generally. For sure though Ardour freezes my machine now unless I treat it with kid gloves. Will experiment with a different kernel from CCRMA and see if that fixes things.
