Ah, that is expected I think.  I think the port names are named stuff like Alsa::in_1, and on OSX are Coreaudio::in_1.  Or something like that.  Lets put this back on the mailing list.

Ah... apologies: Ardour beta26 (0.577.3/0.875.3). I was /sure/ I'd grabbed
beta28 when it was available. I'll try again with Ardour beta29 when it's
available again.
