One small thing I noticed: The DOCUMENTATION/BUILD file needs updating
regarding the required version of gettext. It states 0.11.5 (or above) is
fine, but 0.11.5 is missing the "--from-code=" option to xgettext which
is required by an "scons install" run.

Updating my Debian system to gettext 0.14.4 packages fixed that for me.
