I think I've got one of the little blighter's.  Just when I was about to admit 
defeat valgrind is showing a slow but steady increase in memory usage with an 
idle ardour session.  I will leave it a bit longer before i quit it.  I did 
build it with scons debug=1 - I do hope debugging info is present.  I 
wouldn't like to go through that again.
