Is this about the "Adjust latency..." settings? All channels are set to 0 samples.
Ardour carries out a process we call "alignment" when capturing data,
which typically means moving it a little earlier than the time at which
is was capture, to compensate for latency in the data pipeline that
exists between your hard disk storage and actual audio. It is a very
complex system, much more complex than most users would likely guess,
and the behaviour varies depending on the I/O connectivity of the track
in question. If a track is connected to actual hardware, the alignment
process is different than if the track is wired only to software sources.

So .. (1) what buffer size are you using (2) are you using Pianoteq as a
standalone synth or as an LV2 plugin, and if the former, how are you
bridging MIDI into Ardour?
Hi,

I was about to file a bug report for this, but it seems so obvious,
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong...

Whenever I record MIDI, Ardour 5.6 will show the notes in their
right position during recording but after I stop the recording,
it'll move the notes to the left in time line by a few hundred
milliseconds. I checked this several times playing to the metronome
and it's also apparent when recording the audio at the same time,
the following is with Pianoteq 5 but it's the same when I use a
hardware synth, in the screenshots, it's about 400 milliseconds but
I think I've seen other amounts, too:

I cannot remember this happening in earlyer versions.
