    you are conflating the concepts of 'open source' and 'free'<br>

    FOSS means something is both 'free' (meaning it doesn't cost

    anything to download and use) and 'open source' (meaning it's code

    is available to download and tweaking or redistribution under an

    existing license)<br>

    so in that light baudline *is* indeed *free* -- but you are correct

    in that it is not *open source*<br>

    therein lies the difference<br>
