I'm running Max/MSP and I can see that MIDI is getting in to CoreMIDI just fine.

I do have MIDI patch bay routing all events to Ardour from my devices.

I'll trace the MIDI and find out what's going on.

Get http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ and make sure you are getting
activity from the device first (I presume you are).

Assuming you've got MIDI Patchbay routing all events from the device
to ardour, go to ardour's option window, MIDI tab, and enable the
Trace Input option on the coremidi port. Then you should be able to
see in the OSX Console (console.log) some output whenever ardour gets
any midi delivered.
