Hi everybody,

i've been kind of retired for some years, but now i'm happy to have time

to get on with my music (and recording) ambitions.

So, obviously i started where i have stopped some years ago.

I installed ardour 6.3 (linux/ubuntu) plugged in my bored Lexicon Omega
and tried to become familiar again

with everything (man i had so much time to forget everything and i did ).

I remember (let it be 5 years ago) i was able to record four different
channels simultanously.

Now, i'm stucking, cause i doesn't work - which is the reason, why i try
to get help.

Some questions :

- Do i have to involve jack nowadays ?

When i create a new track i define it as mono.

Then i apply the capture device, i can choose between capture_1 and
capture_2,

shouldn't there be capture_3 and capture_4 too ?

If i define a track as stereo i can see capture_1 & capture_2 with
left/right options

but trying to assign this to four different tracks with four different
Inputchannels

(which would be 4 mics/inputs plugged into Omega) fails.

Looking to the lexicon i see  it provides  two different usb-channels
(for the one usb-plug)

first is 1/2 second 3/4 , are they mapped to capture_1 left/right,
capture_2 left/right ?

I would be happy if someone with the same or similar setup would give
me  hints

what is needed to record 4 channels at one time.

Best regards

Harry
