[Ardour-Users] Moving the beginning and the end of a recording

Not sure if i understand what you are asking, but I tihnk I understand your
intent, and might suggest something a little different for workflow:

1. Move the playhead to where you want the beginning or end of the region
to be (Shortcut key 'p')  Zoom in if needed at this point to find the exact
place
2. Press 'j' to trim the region beginning to that point, or 'k' to trim the
end to that point.
3. Profit... or maybe not, but you may then want to move the remaining
region to the start of the session, which I would use the region editor for:
a. Right click on the region
b. Select Region Editor
c. Type in 00:00:00.00 into the appropriate dialog (Can't rememebr the
label off hand)
d. Profit some more... or maybe not:)

Hope I understood what you are trying to do,  after all this you can use
the location marker dialog to move the end marker if needed as well FYI.
