Thanks. I don't think this is a longshot. I've found something similar,
just now by searching on the PreSonus VSL angle.
Someone here is describing the exact same problem I'm enountering. They
were told to reconfigure jack (as I had been trying), but it looks like
there are further settings in the alsamixer (I was not aware of).
I'm going to try to verify this later on today.
