Ardour, Mixbus. Qtractor,... are plugin-hosts - they can load (aka host)
plugins, but it's not the main function of a DAW or a Sequencer to host
plugins.


Carla for example or Ingen or jalv,.. are dedicated plugin hosts. Their
main purpose is to load and run plugins only.
