Fedora packages usually include "-gitxxxx" in the package name when they
are built from a git pull rather than a released version.

This is the jack2/common/jack subdirectory from the 1.9.10 tag in the
github respository:

https://github.com/jackaudio/jack2/tree/v1.9.10/common/jack

Note this note on the metadata.h file:
Add metadata.h file 11 months ago

That "11 months ago" description was presumably added by the web git
browser server.

I downloaded the zip file for the 1.9.10 release and looked for that file:
>unzip -l jack2-1.9.10.zip | grep metadata
     7314 07/19/14 08:34 jack2-1.9.10/common/jack/metadata.h

It was added to the 1.9.10 release zip file on July 19 2014.

I think maybe Ubuntu just screwed up their package.
