mute automation - or rather boolean automation - is partially
implemented already in the current development branch.
Meanwhile:
button-2 (middle-mouse-button) click on a Mute or Solo will only
mute/solo while you hold down the mouse-button.

route those to a bus and simply solo the bus(es)
