Thank you, I missed that.
I played with ardour patchbay (see image attached) and I managed to 
playback the MIDI. But it's playing through the laptop speakers. I'd 
like to hear the MIDI playback in the headphones connected to the 
external soundcard (just like any audio track in Ardour).

I've read http://manual.ardour.org/signal-routing/the-patchbay/

But I don't know what to do.
