[Ardour-Users] multiple installs of ardour

Hi,

I have a simple question about ardour.
Is it okay to have more than one version of ardour installed on the same OS at the same time (but not running)?
WHat i mean is could  i have them both installed and then run one after the other?

I am asking because i have been having some issues with ardour3 and thought that having ardour 2.8.11 installed as well might be causing some problems.
