OK
so I chose to edit of ~/.asoundrc file
I cut and pasted the pcm.merge code
(this is exactly what I needed, i.e. 2 stereo cards = 4 output channels)
as well as the ctl.merge code
into my .asoundrc doc
I opened Setup in Jack
but not sure which to point to, hw:0 or hw:1?
either way I'm still only seeing 2 channels for System output
???
