I assume you are talking 90 Celsius ( 194 F ).   I wonder what temp the
solder joints on the controller board will start liquefying?  Also, the caps
may give out before the magnetism does.

 The fire safe may not save the drive all the time, but it is still an added
layer of protection.  It will save the drive more times than simply setting
the drive on your desk.

  I also want to point out that i never give any guarantees to anyone that i
will maintain an archive copy of a recorded session.  I just like to have
them as a "just in case", but there's not enough value in it for me to pay
monthly fee's for offsite storage.
