Maybe "innovation bug"
It's a serious recording for more 3 hours and half! 
Wave form could be mecanical noise as speech. Each piece of wav you see is about: some 2-10 minutes, others 15-20 minutes, the shortest around 2 minutes.. Yes it seems to recording (because armed and levels)
Maybe they looking for a bug? ;-)...

Or then it is extraterrestrials who try to understand how ardour work?

Somebody from the team is recording verbal error of the team leader to
make a funny auto-tune song for NASA's next Christmas staff party. I
wonder what they use as replacement for auto-tune. Perhaps it's Ardour
running on a Mac, but Linux, resp. recorded with Linux, but the
mastering is done on a Mac?
