[Ardour-Users] Preferred USB Audio Interface

I use a cheap playback-only USB dongle while editing in Ardour in Linux Mint
9. On the relatively rare occasions I need to record from outside the box I
boot into Indamixx and use an M-Audio Transit USB. For some reason the
M-Audio device doesn't work right with Mint, although JACK sees it and let's
me select it. It works like a champ in Indamixx. It doesn't work right for
me with Windows XP either...although that bothers me less with each passing
day.

I recently bought the Lexicon Omega second hand (€70) and it worked
instantly! It does require an AC adapter though. What I really like
about it is that it has no sofware mixing controls, everything is set
by the hardware knobs on the front and Ardour.

If portablilty is an issue, you can also check out the smaller Lambda
or Alpha: http://www.lexiconpro.com/static.php?id=15
