There is already an osc based controller app for android that you may
want to look at called fingerplaymidi. I'm not sure how configurable
the osc messages are, but an intermediary app could handle the
conversion to ardour friendly osc messages. It does multitouch I
believe and the controller elements are user configurable.

Also, touchosc for iOS is being ported to android supposedly, which is
another potential solution.
