I wasn't looking forward to upgrading to a $3500 Mac Pro 8 core just to run DP and a few nice compressor/ eq plugins. I figured Mixbus was worth a shot. And so far I'm really pleased with having this many good-sounding compressors and eq's without maxing out the cpu. I'm hoping to use Mixbus from now on to mix tracks recorded in DP (or other DAWs from clients) once I get the hang of Ardour.

I've been trying BWF files that were recorded/edited in DP, and also files that were exported from DP. Ardour's "Move To Original Position" command always places the files at the beginning of the track. These same files can be imported back into DP and they snap to their correct original timestamp locations.

Rudy, I took a look at the file you sent me. The problem came from our
re-enabling the use of Apple's own audio file libraries as the default
way to inspect and open audio files. The main library they provide
doesn't offer any way to get timestamp information from a BWF file (at
least, its not documented). I've just switched back to using
libsndfile, an alternative library for handling audio files, and things
work fine again.

This will show up in the next release of Ardour (2.8.8) (soon) and in
the next release of Mixbus (1.3 but with an uncertain release
schedule).

My apologies for this error - we should have checked the consequences
of renabling the use of Apple's audiofile library more rigorously.

regards,
