forget about "integrated dsp" AND "runs under linux". these two are 
mutually exclusive, and i'm sure paul is already warming up for the 
native processing rant :-D

asio is not relevant to linux. zero latency just means hardware 
monitoring. the major problem is the low number of channels you want :)

i guess you're on the right track with m-audio, but do check with the 
alsa project for support before you buy.

with such low i/o counts, a USB1 class-compliant device might also be an 
affordable and flexible option.
