S/PDIF Carries a clock signal, ADAT also carries a sync signal.  But
in both cases you HAVE to make sure you have sync set up correctly,
and also in many people's opinion, an external clock syncing both
devices is likely to be far more stable than the depending on the
clock signal embedded in the stream.
