[Ardour-Users] another "bounce" question

in the ardour manual, i find this snippet under "bounce":
"
Re-records this region (with any plugins/inserts applied) to a new audio
file, and replaces the region with one referring to the new file.
"

this sounds a little garbled. what i think happens is: when you bounce a
 region in a track, the track's playlist is updated to include the newly
created bounced region instead of the original one. correct?
