[Ardour-Users] bounce

Hallo

i wonder about the bounce function.
it creates new regions of the newly generated files only in the regionlist.
i would like to use it the reduce the size of a project.
i would need that the regions in the track get assoziated to the new files.
is somebody working on that?
i saw in the mantis that there are different suggestions for bounce.

how about adding more/different commands next to bounce like
create-independent-copy and merge-bounce.

when nobody is working on that i would have a look but i don't know if i
am able to do this.
when i look should i work in the ardour 3 branch?
is it possible to have ardour 2 and 3 at the same computer without extra
thinking?

i am currently using: ardour 2.7.1 (Aus Revision 4296 erstellt).
