I'm baffled then....  I've always needed to rebuild Ardour whenever I
upgraded jack and I've certainly upgraded less than a year ago.  If I don't
rebuild, the most common problem is that I get an error from Ardour saying
it was unable to start Jack - but I did once get the same error as Sampsa 
(the one about the protocol mismatch).
