@Devs: is there a way to simplify the process of setting up the
tranzport? I have no tranzport myself, but what I read in the
Ardour's manual seems far too complicated for the average user (well,
depends on the target audience...).

I actually worked on this part of Ardour's manual, and the section
about the tranzport seems outdated. I'm interested on the process of
setting it up to update the manual in this regard. Can you post a short
description (very short, just that I can see which steps are currently
necessary)?
