I just upgraded to 0.97 and I get past the trouble spot.

Now I see that I need to upgrade my jack from 0.102 based on 
http://ardour.org/building and on the error below.  ;-)

Looks like Mandriva's latest is 0.107 which looks like an svn version.
The latest release is 0.109.2, which might be better.  I gotta update
my distro.  ;-)
