[Ardour-Users] midi binding issue (ardour 2.3)

Hi,
This is my first post here, sorry if it seems trivial but I've looked
around a lot and chatting on the irc for a while with no solution.

I can trace the input of my midi controller (uc-33) in the midi
preferences, it should be correctly connected in jack and the
ardour.rc file. But the ctrl+middle-mouse-click does not have any
effect (no pop up even), unless I check 'Generic MIDI' in Options ->
Control Surfaces. And when I do this the pop up appears but the fader
still does not react.

I find it quite odd as I can actually trace the input, as mentioned.
Any suggestions as to what I might do?
