[Ardour-Users] disk not able to keep up with ardour...

OK. I'm down to 17 active tracks and the error still happens constantly. Is there something we're missing? Are the tracks really deactivated?... I think something is wrong with this session.
I have another 3 minute, 96kHz session with 63 active tracks that plays through without errors.
I have enough disks to do the RAID thing but it seems like something else is wrong with this session.

tracks ready (say 10 for instance), then bounce them to a new track.
When its bounced then you can deactivate the source 10 tracks. In the end
you would have 7 tracks active and the original 64 deactivated. Not a
pretty solution, but it could avoid having to purchase additional drives
and SATA controllers to get RAID.

So the problem is seek times because the 23 MB/sec of a 96 khz/64 mono track
session don't live linearly on the disk but rather as a sequence of complete
files?
I wonder how Sara's (existing) session could be made to work (with other means
than raid), given that at some point all 64 tracks are supposed to play ok.
Would it be possible to interleave 64 soundfiles on the disk in order to
linearize disk access?
SuperSampo, go low-level one more time and save another session!
