You might be better off copying your ardour2_ui.rc to another name and
having ardour recreate it, then if you need to you can re-apply your
changes manually - there have been some changes to the UI which require
different settings in that file.

There is a new option at the bottom of the "View" menu "Sync Editor and
Mixer track order" - you can choose the behaviour.
