<hehe> I gave a quick 1st try at doing this just using some audio
coming in from from MythTV. User error seems to have stopped Ardour
from actually looping so I got a region that didn't obey the punch
range. (Thanks to Paul for the great instructions on getting it set
up. None the less I right clicked the audio region and chose (I
think...) Edit->Remove. Ardour completely crashed and disappeared from
my screen.

I did select the 'loop' icon in the transport. Do I have to do more to
get Ardour to actually loop?

I'll update my machine and see if newer versions work better for me.
