Yes, there are issues with midi control surface binding (and feedback)
in beta11.  I fixed the binding part just hours after we released
beta11.  I can build you current SVN dmg if you want to try it out.

However, even the current version should be able to bind and use the
controls, they just won't be remembered the next time you load the
session.  You have to enable midi control from the Options
menu->Control Surfaces->Generic MIDI.
