75 contiguous mono tracks on a machine that much resembles Kevin's 
(athlon xp 2600+, 1gb ram, cheap ide drives, jack-0.100.6 with -p 64 
for the sake of it and <duck> patched kernel 2.4.26). No stumbles on 
seeking back and forth, varispeed up to 4.0. It's not a session you hit 
play and pray, it "feels" very usable:

Why would Ardour's current 32bit float format files limit track count?
