Am I right that the fastest way to to this is (for each channel strip):

1) click output, select disconnect
2) click output, select edit
3) add my new bus (in the ardour tab) to each of out1 and out2 by 
clicking on the two channels of my new bus in the ardour tab

Well in this case I might, it's 3 part harmony each part dubbed 4 times, 
so it's still nice to be able to ajust the level of each part in the 
harmony. But normally I guess you're right...

I found that switching from xfce4 to openbox (which I normally run) did 
alot of difference. qjackctl still reports xruns, but I'ave worked with 
the audio for almost an hour nonstop now without any audible problems.

I also switched to my home brewn rt-patched kernel, which might also 
have helped, although loosing xfce4 was all that was needed. Thanks for 
the suggestions, though...
