First of all, welcome!

I haven't got any experience with this particular setup, but I can only
point you to http://ardour.org/requirements.php, particularly "Things
not to do" in regards of USB audio.

Seems like USB has big latencies, therefor it is not indicated for
professional audio work...

But maybe someone else has better information about this.
