[ardour-users] Ardour needs a forum

I sort of agree, but then again email lists send us emails so why
should a message from the forum be any worse.

As I see this it's all in the eye of the beholder. Let the forum get
started, either at Ardour.org or somewhere else. If it gains traction,
gets used and has significant content and value then that's great. If
it doesn't then it won't matter much. Those who want it will use it.
Those who don't will get emails, some of which will tell us 'That was
discussed in the forum'! (If indeed it was....) ;-)

This one clearly hasn't gained traction yet.

Some smart forum guy could probably figure out how to take the
ardours-user list, parse out the text and enter it in the forum as a
thread. Now that would make the forum more useful to me since I'd go
there to search out old conversations as opposed to depending on
Google.
