I really like this idea.

I would make heavy use of recent plugins I think.  I'm also going to 
pursue PD's template suggestion, which might get me >80% of the way 
there most of the time.

It's probably been discussed before, but does anyone know why every 
plugin I have gets listed twice, not only by ardour, but also by 
audacity?  If this is OT, feel free to kill the subthread.
